Well welcome to my page. My name is Phil, KE5LZX. I recently upgraded to the General Class Amateur Radio license. I am currently using an Icom IC-7000 HF/VHF/UHF Transceiver running up to a ground-mounted Hustler Triband Vertical antenna. For portable radio communication, I use a Yaesu Vertex VX-150 HT, also hooking it up to a PCTEL 2m mobile antenna. I have made hundreds of contacts on HF including some DX ones in Japan, Estonia, New Zeland, and even Russia. I do QSL with any new state or country I contact, unless I've had a special conversation or have been asked to QSL. I am working on the ARRL WAS award. I have made contact with over 30 states and am looking to make many more with every state.
I am a member of the Valencia County Amateur Radio Ass. I am very active within this club, especially during Field Day. Each year, the club sets up an outside station in a local park and holds an open house to all visitors. My main job is to help set up and make contacts all night!!!! I love to operate during the night because many stations shut down, so there aren't many pile ups on any DX stations. Listen for me, using the callsign K5OUR.
I love to contest, and I frequently participate in state QSO parties and many youth only amateur radio activities.
CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR MORE INFO ON CONTESTING!!!!
If you have any questions about amateur radio, feel free to email me. I will answer your questions to the best of my abilities.

It is not the class of license that the Amateur holds,
but the class of the Amatuer that holds the license.
